Redstone Dust
Redstone dust more commonly referred to as redstone is the most basic component of redstone contraptions. Redstone cannot be placed on half slabs, paintings, fences, fence doors, signs, iron bars, pressure plates, and doors. Also, redstone dust cannot be pushed by pistons. Redstone can be triggered by levers, buttons,pressure plates, tripwires, redstone torches, comparators, and redstone blocks activating a redstone current.
Lever
Levers emit a redstone signal up to 16 blocks when activated. Levers require one flip to turn it on and one to turn it off. Levers can be placed on any face of the block. Levers can't be placed on half slabs, fence, fence doors, paintings, signs, iron bars, pressure plates, and doors. Also, levers cannot be pushed by pistons
Buttons
Buttons emit a redstone signal up to 16 blocks when activated. Buttons turn off after 1.5 seconds after being pressed. Buttons can't be placed on half slabs, paintings, fences, fence doors, signs, iron bars, pressure plates, and doors. Also buttons cannot be moved by pistons. Arrows shot from a bow, dispenser, and skeletons and activate wooden buttons this does not work with stone buttons.
Pressure Plates
Pressure plates emit a redstone signal up to 16 blocks when activated. You can activate a wooden pressure plate by having a mob or players step on it, you can throw any item onto the pressure plate,or a arrow shot from a bow, dispenser, and skeletons. You can only activate a stone pressure plate by having a mob or player step on it. Pressure plates can't be placed on half slabs, paintings, fences, fence doors, signs, iron bars, pressure plates, and doors.
